Readers who love historical fiction will love Linda Hoover's Heart's Desire.  

Hoover sets the stage in 1880 proper Boston society. She then brings on the characters to historical fiction readers’ delight, with concerts, parties, dances, ice-skating and carriage rides.

You’ll boo the villain and cheer for the hero. Torn between her duty for her family and her heart’s desire, will there be a happily-ever-after for Julia? 

Heart’s Desire is a delightful dance as Julia has to navigate her family’s distress, a suitor full of deception and a future full of questions. I was transported in time and found the journey and ending simply delightful. Linda Hoover is a gifted historical romance author I look forward to reading more of.

Heart’s Desire is such a fun read. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I read the whole thing in one day. I hope there’s a sequel because I’m dying to find out what happens next. 

Set in Boston, Heart’s Desire is a great ‘curl up by the fireplace’ kind of read. I highly recommend this Christian historical romance.

 Hearts Desire is a delightful story. What I love most about the plot of this story is the mystery along with the romance.  

I don’t even know where to start. This book was amazing from beginning to end. The descriptions and emotions made me feel like was watching the story play out in my head. I love a fun adventure story and this book was the perfect read. I would have given 10 stars if that was a choice! I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes to read and even if you don’t like to read you won’t be able to put this book down. I can’t wait to start the next book in the series, Heart’s Journey.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really enjoyed this Gilded Age inspirational romance set in Boston in which the main characters, Julia Phillips and Jacob Anderson, were from two different social classes and had to deal with the hurdles set upon them because of it. Lucien played the antagonist role very well with his arrogance and behavior while Julia’s family and circle of friends kept things lively and interesting. Developing personal faith was a natural part of the story. I can picture other characters from this story being featured in their own books.

Heart’s Journey follows Julia and Jacob to Iowa, praying Jacob’s dream of owning a farm would become reality. Julia, a city girl, had never been in a kitchen before but armed with a cook book she was determined to learn! I laughed at her early attempts to make something edible!! This book not only made me laugh, but encouraged me to look to God for the answers I need and trust him for those answers. It made me cry! Rejoice! Celebrate! I am excited now for the next book!!! This book is well worth reading!   

 What a captivating story depicting the orchestration of God’s plan and purpose for each wonderfully illustrated character! From Julia to Jacob, Melissa to Jason, along with so many others, the experience of watching life unfold as they learned to trust God, despite their circumstances, was truly an uplifting, inspiring read. The author has been blessed with a gift meant to be shared to draw each reader to the heart of God.

In Heart’s Journey, newlyweds Julia and Jacob Anderson face enormous challenges together, as they learn to manage a farm and household-something Julia’s never encountered before. This lovely, faith-affirming story will steal your heart from the beginning chapter and carry it through to the satisfying ending. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed reading Heart’s Journey. Julia and Jacob showed me I need to keep surrendering to him, especially when I’m afraid and want to control what comes next. 

God's hand was surely on Linda's as she wrote this book. As one recently turning to the Lord for saving grace, I cannot express how much I enjoyed reading it. All of life's wonders, its ups and downs were described in the most wonderful way. I can't wait to read the next and I highly recommend this story to all who enjoy reading. Julia with her love and endurance and Jacob with his love and strength are a couple to admire. Thank you Linda for such an inspiring story.

This is a first time read, of this author, she did not disappoint. A book about blind faith, trusting God for His purpose and plans for a couple, Jacob and Julia. Along with a great story line ( was impressed that this book was that detailed throughout each chapter). I won't give it all away but definitely a great story about Faith, Trusting the Lord, and sharing your faith to those you love and to build relationships with those you meet.

 Extremely well-written story of teen twins in 1918 Appalachians who have to solve the mystery of the disappearance of two girls while dealing with superstition. The characters are rich! Found many lessons centered around forgiveness, trust, and perseverance. Highly recommend.

An engrossing tale, Linda Hoover brilliantly blends YA fantasy and Christian literature to create a unique story the whole family will enjoy.

Different in that we knew the bad guy and what he was doing. The difficulty was in proving it and his machinations were interesting. It was wonderful, planning how to outwit him, and having adventures and getting into trouble along the way. She was hilarious, loyal, and inventive as well as delightfully clumsy. Great light, amusing, inspirational story.

This book should be made into a movie! It had action, adventure, mystery and romance. The characters were wonderful. Great book!!

  I really enjoyed Lighter Than Air because it had everything I look for in a romance. The chemistry between Justin and Elena was amazing and there was plenty of conflict. Although Justin’s goals and Elena’s financial worries are serious issues, there was humor sprinkled in that just made it an absolutely enjoyable story. I definitely recommend. 

When the first chapter began with its focus on the villain, I thought, "oh, no, I'm not going to like this book!" But it wasn't long before characters of integrity entered the story. This novel gave me quite a ride! I enjoyed it so much!
